Tottenham and Juventus have contacted the representatives of Eintracht Frankfurt forward Younes Ebnoutalib to explore the possibility of a transfer, according to Sky Deutschland.
Ebnoutalib has emerged as one of the most prominent young attackers in the German Bundesliga after making an impressive start to the season. The 21-year-old has scored eight goals and provided two assists in 10 appearances, with those contributions coming in just 675 minutes of football.
That equates to a direct involvement in a goal every 67.5 minutes, figures which have attracted the attention of two major European clubs.
Rapid progress at Eintracht Frankfurt
Ebnoutalib joined Eintracht Frankfurt from Elversberg in January last year, but his initial months at the club were disrupted by injury. A ligament problem kept him out for several weeks and he did not return to competitive action until April.
He made five appearances during the second half of last season, scoring once in a total of 131 minutes. His limited involvement reflected both the injury and the adjustment period following his move.
His fortunes have changed significantly this season. Regular opportunities in attack have been accompanied by a sharp improvement in his scoring record, helping him establish himself as a player attracting attention beyond Germany.
The forward’s progress also earned him international recognition. In September, he made his debut for the Germany national team, another indication of how quickly his status has changed since joining Eintracht Frankfurt.
Transfer decision remains with the player
Sky Deutschland reports that Tottenham and Juventus are currently among the strongest contenders to sign Ebnoutalib. Both clubs have already taken the first step by speaking to his representative about the conditions of a potential move.
There has been no decision from the player so far. One of the key questions is whether Ebnoutalib would consider leaving Frankfurt during the winter transfer window in January, or remain in Germany until the summer to continue his development.
His eventual decision is expected to be influenced by his sporting ambitions and the assurances available from the clubs interested in signing him.
Eintracht Frankfurt are under no immediate pressure to sell. Ebnoutalib’s contract runs until June 2031, giving the German club a long-term agreement and considerable leverage in any negotiations.
Transfermarkt currently estimates his market value at 18m euros. With his contract extending for several more seasons and his performances continuing to improve, Tottenham and Juventus would need to make a convincing offer to take him away from Frankfurt.
Eintracht Frankfurt will soon play their ninth match of the German league season against Paderborn.
