Napoli suffer double injury blow as Juventus win Serie A clash

Kevin De Bruyne and Giovanni Di Lorenzo both suffered injuries for Napoli, while Juventus midfielder Weston McKennie was also forced off during a 2-0 victory for the home side in Serie A.

Juventus recovered from their recent difficulties with a convincing win over Napoli in the 10th round of the Italian top flight, securing all three points with two second-half goals.

The match at Allianz Stadium was interrupted by a series of enforced changes after several players reported physical problems. Napoli made two substitutions at half-time, with De Bruyne and Di Lorenzo unable to continue because of pain.

According to Sky Sport Italia, De Bruyne sustained an ankle sprain, while Di Lorenzo suffered an adductor injury.

La Gazzetta dello Sport reported that McKennie had also picked up an adductor problem. The Juventus player was withdrawn at half-time as a result.

Juventus settled the contest after the break, with Kerim Alajbegovic and Jeremy Boga scoring to give the hosts a 2-0 victory.

The result moved Juventus up to seventh place with 17 points, while Napoli remained eighth on 14 points.

Both teams face a demanding schedule in the coming days, with each side due to play twice more during the next week.

Napoli travel to face Porto on Wednesday in the Champions League before hosting Lazio in Serie A on Sunday.

Juventus, meanwhile, will visit AZ Alkmaar on Thursday in the Europa League. They then travel to face Fiorentina in the Italian league on Sunday.
