Mosimane agent seeks R1.25m commission over Esteghlal move, court papers show

Bafana Bafana head coach Pitso Mosimane’s move to Iranian club Esteghlal has led to a R1.25m commission dispute in the Johannesburg high court.

Football agent Hamed Ghadiri is accusing MT Sports Marketing and Management, the sports management company run by Mosimane’s wife, Moira Tlhagale, of failing to pay him for helping to arrange the deal.

Particulars of the claim filed by Ghadiri, and seen by the Sunday Times, state that MT Sports authorised him to begin discussions with Esteghlal in October 2024. Those talks concerned Mosimane and members of his technical team.

Ghadiri claims his involvement helped Esteghlal make an offer, after which Mosimane signed an employment contract with the Iranian club.

The dispute centres on an alleged service agreement between Ghadiri and MT Sports. The agreement is said to have established how a $100,000 fee, equivalent to R1.6m and expected to be paid by Esteghlal, would be shared between the two parties.

Ghadiri is seeking R1.25m in commission from MT Sports.
