Al Hilal have improved significantly under Simone Inzaghi and possess “a wonderful group of players”, according to former Al Ahli Saudi player Tarek Dhiab.
Al Hilal ended matchweek 12 of the Saudi Pro League with a 2-0 victory over Al Fateh on Saturday.
Dhiab singled out right-back Mohamed Mahzari for particular praise, saying the defender had developed considerably since establishing himself in the team.
“Al Hilal have a wonderful group of players, especially the right-back Mohamed Mahzari,” Dhiab said in comments to Thmanyah. “He has clearly developed himself and is undoubtedly a successful signing for Al Hilal.”
The former Tunisia international also highlighted Mahzari’s contribution at both ends of the pitch, while praising his ability to contain opposing forwards.
“He is a wonderful player who has imposed himself both offensively and defensively,” Dhiab added. “The most important thing is that it is difficult for any attacker to get past him because he stands extremely firm.”
Mahzari was named player of the match after Al Hilal’s victory over Al Fateh, an award Dhiab believed was fully deserved.
“He certainly deserves it because he is a great asset to Al Hilal,” he said.
The result strengthened the impression that Al Hilal have made substantial progress under Inzaghi, with their latest league victory coming without conceding a goal.
Al Hilal are also listed to face Shabab Al Ahli Dubai in the AFC Champions League Elite on 03 November 2026.
