Racing Santander have taken action against 41 people over the illegal resale of tickets ahead of Sunday’s Copa del Rey meeting with Real Madrid at El Sardinero.
The club said 15 season-ticket holders, six supporters and 20 people listed on the active ticket applicants’ register (RASE) had been found to have taken part in unauthorised resale activity.
All those affected have been informed that they will be prevented from entering the stadium. They have also been asked to go to the ticket office to explain their position.
Racing Santander have opened investigations into each of the 41 cases. The club said the alleged conduct breached the rules governing season tickets, supporters’ cards and match tickets.
Those regulations are set out in the club’s statutes, the internal rules for the stadium and the terms and conditions of its 2026-2027 season-ticket campaign.
The club said the cases would be examined before the results were communicated to the people involved and to supporters. It also confirmed that security arrangements and stadium entry procedures would be strengthened for the fixture against Real Madrid on Sunday, 01 November 2026.
There has been significant demand for tickets for the match, with Racing Santander criticising attempts by some supporters to make money from the interest in the game.
In its statement, the club appealed for solidarity among its fanbase and said it regretted that some individuals had sought financial gain at the expense of others.
Racing Santander said the high demand for tickets could not justify exploiting the situation through resale. It added that such practices had denied supporters who followed the rules the opportunity to obtain a ticket and attend the match.
The club stressed that unauthorised resale was unacceptable and said the investigations would determine the outcome of the measures taken against the 41 people.
