Mourinho praises Yan Diomande after Real Madrid’s Clasico victory

Jose Mourinho singled out Yan Diomande for praise after Real Madrid opened the 2026/27 season’s first Clasico with a 2-1 victory over Barcelona at Camp Nou.

The Portuguese manager also commended Marc Cucurella for his disciplined performance against Lamine Yamal, while highlighting Diomande’s role in restricting Barcelona’s attacking options on the opposite flank.

“Diomande was very rarely beaten by Xavi Espart or Joao Cancelo,” Mourinho said after the Merengues’ win.
