CAF Women’s Champions League: Ampem Darkoa Ladies touch down in Egypt for Edo Queens extra-time

Ampem Darkoa Ladies have arrived in Egypt for their rescheduled clash against Nigeria’s Edo Queens, with a place in the CAF Women’s Champions League at stake.

The Ghana Women’s Premier League champions will continue the WAFU B qualifying final from the start of extra time after the initial penalty shootout result was nullified following decisions by the Confederation of African Football (CAF).

The game will played on Thursday, October 29 in Cairo.

The teams faced each other in the final on September 5, 2026, but CAF’s Organising Committee for Women’s Football issued a decision on September 26, followed by a ruling from the CAF Appeal Board on October 16.

In a letter to both clubs, CAF instructed that play resume with the score tied at 2-2. The teams must contest two 15-minute periods of extra time to determine the winner.

If the sides remain level after the additional 30 minutes, a penalty shootout will decide which team progresses.

Ampem Darkoa have travelled to Cairo ahead of the decisive encounter, scheduled for this week.

The winner will remain in Egypt to compete in the main CAF Women’s Champions League tournament, raising the stakes for both sides.
