Crystal Palace reject January exit for Ismaila Sarr as contract talks continue

Crystal Palace are not planning to sell Ismaila Sarr during the winter transfer window and have opened discussions with the Senegal international over a new contract.

Talks between the club and the 28-year-old winger are understood to be progressing positively, with both parties hoping to reach an agreement that would extend their relationship for the long term.

The move follows a summer in which Sarr attracted interest from a number of clubs. Liverpool were reported to have made an offer worth £50m, close to €60m, but the proposal was turned down by Crystal Palace.

Galatasaray also explored the possibility of signing the former Watford and Olympique de Marseille player, while Sarr was understood to have other options in Saudi Arabia.

Despite a difficult start to the season and limited playing time under manager Pierre Sage, Sarr remains an important part of Crystal Palace’s plans. The club therefore does not expect to consider offers that may arrive in January.

According to journalist Pete O’Rourke, Crystal Palace hope a contract extension will secure the Senegalese forward’s future and discourage potential suitors. However, no final agreement has been announced, meaning Sarr’s position remains unresolved while several clubs continue to monitor his situation.

Sarr is under contract at Crystal Palace until 30 June 2029. His market value is estimated at €45m, while his annual salary is reported to be €4,348,684, equivalent to 2,826,644,600 FCFA.

Crystal Palace’s next fixture is their EFL Cup fourth-round match against Fulham.
