Orlando Pirates’ Betway Premiership meeting with Siwelele FC has been postponed, with no new date announced.
The reigning champions were due to travel to the Free State to play at Dr Rantlai Petrus Stadium on Wednesday, November 4. However, the fixture will not take place as scheduled.
Siwelele confirmed the postponement but did not provide a reason for the decision. The club has also not said when the match will be rearranged.
The change affects both teams’ league schedules as they look to improve their positions in the Betway Premiership.
Orlando Pirates are currently second in the standings behind Mamelodi Sundowns. The Soweto club have made a strong start to the campaign and are continuing their challenge near the top of the table.
Their next scheduled fixture is the Soweto Derby against Kaizer Chiefs on Saturday. That match is set to take place before the postponed meeting with Siwelele.
Siwelele, meanwhile, are 14th after collecting six points from their opening eight matches. They will be aiming to move away from the relegation zone, but must now wait for confirmation of a new date against Orlando Pirates.
The Free State side are scheduled to face Marumo Gallants on Friday.
The postponed fixture would have given both teams the chance to add to their points tally, but the league encounter will now have to be rescheduled.
