PSL postpones seven fixtures because of local government elections

The Premier Soccer League has postponed all seven fixtures scheduled for Wednesday, 4 November, because they clash with the country’s local government elections.

The decision was confirmed by Kaizer Chiefs, who had been due to host AmaZulu on that date. The postponement applies to the full round of league matches planned for Wednesday.

“Kaizer Chiefs would like to inform the supporters that due to the upcoming local government elections, our scheduled league home match against AmaZulu, along with all other PSL fixtures set for Wednesday, 4 November, has been postponed,” stated the club.

The Premier Soccer League is expected to announce new dates for the matches. Kaizer Chiefs said it would pass on the confirmed details to supporters once the schedule had been finalised.

“The Premier Soccer League will communicate the rescheduled dates for these fixtures, and the club will share the confirmed details with the Amakhosi Faithful as soon as they are available.”

The other postponed fixtures are Siwelele against Orlando Pirates, Chippa United versus Sekhukhune United, Golden Arrows against Marumo Gallants, Polokwane City versus Kruger United, Richards Bay versus Stellenbosch FC, and TS Galaxy against Durban City.

The fixtures listed on the league’s official website mean that no PSL league matches will take place on Wednesday, 4 November.

League action is currently scheduled to resume on 27 November, following the FIFA international break.
