Togo coach Patrice Neveu names provisional squad for Algeria double-header
Togo head coach Patrice Neveu has named a provisional 31-man squad for the Sparrowhawks’ upcoming double-header against Algeria in the 2027 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers.
The West African nation will face the North African giants on November 14 and 17, with the two encounters expected to play a crucial role in shaping their qualification campaign.
Togo will travel to Algeria for the third matchday before returning to Lomé to host the return fixture on home soil four days later.
The Sparrowhawks head into the double-header after recording one victory and one defeat in their opening two qualifying matches, leaving them with an opportunity to strengthen their position with positive results against the Algerians.
Ahead of the decisive fixtures, Neveu has provisionally selected 31 players, comprising four goalkeepers, 12 defenders, eight midfielders and seven forwards.
The squad features experienced defender Djené Dakonam, alongside midfielders Karim Dermane and Kodjo Aziangbe, as Togo prepare for the challenging assignments.
In attack, Kevin Denkey, Thibault Klidjé and Kodjo Fo-Doh Laba headline the selection, with the trio expected to provide options in the final third.
Yaw Annor, Charles Abi and Mansour Ouro-Tagba are also included as Neveu assesses his attacking resources ahead of the two matches.
The provisional list will allow the technical team to evaluate its options before confirming the final squad for the double-header.
Neveu is expected to announce the final selection at a press conference in Lomé on November 3, ahead of the team’s preparations for the trip to Algeria.
Togo will be aiming to make the most of their two meetings with Algeria as they pursue qualification for the 2027 AFCON finals.
