Kaizer Chiefs have been offered the opportunity to sign South African winger Elias Mokwana as the Soweto giants continue to explore options to strengthen their attacking department.

The 27-year-old has parted ways with Tunisian giants Espérance de Tunis and returned to South Africa in search of a new challenge.

Mokwana’s representatives have reportedly approached the Kaizer Chiefs management directly, proposing a deal that would allow the club to secure his services as a free agent without paying a transfer fee.

The Glamour Boys are understood to be assessing the financial implications of the potential move, alongside the winger’s suitability for their tactical plans.

Kaizer Chiefs have struggled for goals in the domestic league, and the addition of an experienced wide attacker could provide the team with greater pace, creativity and attacking depth.

Mokwana established himself as one of the exciting attacking talents in South African football during his spell with Sekhukhune United, where his performances earned him a move to Espérance in the summer of 2024.

The winger’s explosive pace, direct running and ability to take on defenders made him an influential figure in the domestic game before his switch to Tunisia.

He has also had experience in the Middle East through a loan spell in the Saudi Pro League and has represented South Africa at international level.

His potential availability presents Kaizer Chiefs with an opportunity to strengthen their squad without committing funds to a transfer fee, although any deal would depend on the club’s assessment of the player and the terms of a possible agreement.

For now, the Soweto outfit are weighing up their options as they seek to improve their attacking output and strengthen their squad for the challenges ahead.
