Niger won the UFOA-B U17 tournament after beating Cote d’Ivoire on penalties in a dramatic final at the Stade du 4-Aout in Ouagadougou on Friday, 23 October 2026.

The match finished 2-2 after 90 minutes, with Niger prevailing 3-1 in the shootout to claim the regional trophy and secure victory in the final, which also served as a qualifier for the CAN U17.

Cote d’Ivoire took control before half-time when Yeboua Ruben Kouabenan put the defending champions ahead. Niger responded after the interval, recovering from the deficit to level the contest and force the outcome to be decided from the spot.

The Nigerien players proved more accurate during the shootout, completing a turnaround against Cote d’Ivoire and ending the holders’ reign.

Cote d’Ivoire must therefore surrender the title, with Niger crowned champions after a closely fought final in Ouagadougou.
