Portugal and Guinea-Bissau defender Daniel Banjaqui, who plays for Benfica, is the subject of reported interest from Dortmund over a potential move to the Bundesliga.

The 18-year-old right-back has a contract with Benfica until 30 June 2031 and is valued at €10m. He joined the club’s senior set-up in July 2026 after progressing from Benfica B, having spent his youth career in the club’s academy.

Banjaqui has made six senior appearances this season, featuring three times in Liga Portugal 2, twice in the Portuguese top flight and once in the Europa League. He has started all three of Benfica’s Liga Portugal 2 matches and has also appeared in European competition.

The defender was part of the Portugal Under-17 team that won the Under-17 World Cup in 2025, as well as the European Under-17 Championship in the same year.

A move to Dortmund would take Banjaqui from Liga Portugal to the Bundesliga, although the reported interest has not resulted in a confirmed transfer. With his Benfica contract running through June 2031 and his market value listed at €10m, the club retains the player under a long-term agreement.
