Daniel Banjaqui, the 18-year-old Portuguese and Guinea-Bissau defender at Benfica, has been linked with a move to Juventus in Serie A.

The right-back has a contract with Benfica until 30 June 2031 and is valued at €10m. There is no indication that a transfer has been agreed, with the reported interest coming as Banjaqui begins his first season with Benfica’s senior side.

Banjaqui has made two Liga Portugal appearances during the 2026-27 campaign, alongside three starts for Benfica B in Liga Portugal 2. He has also played once in the Europa League, completing 90 minutes, while making no appearance in qualifying.

The Lisbon-born defender joined Benfica’s first team on 1 July 2026 after progressing through the club’s academy and spending the previous season with Benfica B. He began his development at Real Formacao before moving to Benfica’s youth system in 2018.

Banjaqui was part of Portugal’s Under-17 side that won both the Under-17 World Cup and European Under-17 Championship in 2025. He also won the Torneio Internacional Algarve Under-17 tournament that year.

Juventus’ reported interest would represent a potential move from Liga Portugal to Serie A for a player who has so far remained tied to Benfica’s long-term plans. His current agreement runs through June 2031, and his listed market value stands at €10m.
