Manchester United monitor Ismaila Sarr as Crystal Palace contract decision looms

Manchester United are continuing to monitor Ismaila Sarr ahead of the winter transfer window, with the Senegal international yet to decide whether to accept a new contract offered by Crystal Palace.

The 28-year-old winger wanted to leave the London club during the summer transfer window after Galatasaray made an approach for his services. Crystal Palace rejected the move, however, and Sarr remained at Selhurst Park.

According to TEAMtalk, the player’s representatives are pleased with the terms proposed by the Eagles, although no agreement has been reached and the contract has not been signed.

Manchester United remain keen on Sarr but face competition for his signature. Newcastle United and Sunderland are also tracking the forward, while clubs from Turkey and Saudi Arabia are understood to be interested.

The versatility of Sarr is believed to be one of the factors attracting Manchester United. The Senegal international can operate on either wing or play through the middle as a striker, offering options across the attack.

Crystal Palace are now trying to secure his future and prevent the possibility of him leaving in 2027. The decision made by Sarr will therefore have a significant bearing on his long-term plans.

Sarr is under contract with Crystal Palace until 30 June 2029 and has an estimated market value of 45 million euros. His annual salary is reported to be 4,348,684 euros, equivalent to 2,826,644,600 FCFA.

Manchester United are also monitoring Crystal Palace forward Jean-Philippe Mateta ahead of the January transfer window. The France-born, Democratic Republic of the Congo international is another attacking option being watched by the Red Devils.

Crystal Palace’s immediate focus, meanwhile, is their upcoming UEFA Europa League fixture against Besiktas. The match will be their third game of the league phase.

The available pre-match odds list Crystal Palace at 3.00 to win, with the draw priced at 3.50 and a Besiktas victory at 1.94.
