Former Kaizer Chiefs midfielder Siyethemba Sithebe joins fourth-tier Flamingo FC
Former Kaizer Chiefs and AmaZulu midfielder Siyethemba Sithebe has joined Hollywoodbets Regional League club Flamingo FC, marking a return to football at amateur level.
The move for the 33-year-old was announced by Flamingo FC on their official social media platforms on Wednesday. It represents a significant signing for the fourth-division side, who have secured a player with extensive experience in South Africa’s top flight.
Sithebe has been without a club since February 2025, when his professional career was brought to an abrupt end following a disciplinary dispute.
His most recent spell came at Betway Premiership club Richards Bay FC. The midfielder made only 8 competitive appearances for the Natal Rich Boyz across all competitions before his contract was terminated.
That spell ended amid controversy after an alleged changing-room altercation involving members of the coaching staff. Sithebe has subsequently remained without a professional team for over a year.
At Flamingo FC, he will bring the experience of a career that includes 121 appearances for AmaZulu and 39 for Kaizer Chiefs. He also represented Bafana Bafana on 8 occasions.
The club will hope that Sithebe’s experience can help provide stability as they compete in the demanding Hollywoodbets Regional League. 大发快
