Juventus v Rennes: Turin side backed to win Europa League clash with 3.9 scoreline bet

Juventus and Rennes meet in the third round of the Europa League on Thursday, with both clubs looking to maintain their European momentum after contrasting domestic results.

The match will be played on Thursday, 22 October 2026 at 16:45 GMT. Cameroonian sports betting expert and journalist Arthur Wandji has predicted a Juventus victory, with a grouped correct-score bet on 2-1, 3-1 or 4-1 available at odds of 3.9.

Juventus

Juventus began their European campaign with victories over NEC Nijmegen, whom they beat 5-0, and Celta Vigo, who they overcame 2-1 after a late goal from Randal Kolo Muani.

Their European form has been stronger than their recent domestic results, however. On 18 October, Luciano Spalletti’s side suffered a heavy 3-0 home defeat by Lazio in Serie A.

That result underlined continuing concerns over Juventus’ defensive organisation, although their performances in the Europa League have shown they remain dangerous in attack. They have scored seven goals in their opening two matches in the competition and are also on a run of four successive home wins in European competition.

Juventus’ recent sequence is D/V/N/D/V.

Rennes

Rennes also arrive in Turin after a high-scoring defeat. The French club beat AJ Auxerre 4-1 in the league and OFI Crete 2-1 in the Europa League before losing 4-3 to Paris FC on 18 October.

The results highlight Rennes’ attacking ability, but also their problems at the back. They have conceded at least three goals in four of their past six away matches and have allowed seven goals across their last two games.

Their visit to Turin will therefore test the stability of their defence against a Juventus side that has been effective at home in Europe. Rennes’ recent form is D/V/V/D/D.

The clubs previously met in the 1999 UEFA Intertoto Cup final, when Juventus won 4-2 on aggregate. Rennes have also lost all four of their European away matches in Italy, against four different opponents. Those records may favour Juventus psychologically, although they do not decide the outcome.

Betting options

The main suggested selection is Juventus to win and more than 1.5 goals at 1.85, while a straight home win is priced at 1.61.

Nick Woltemade is offered at 2.30 to score. The German forward has scored in each of his first two appearances for Juventus in major European competition, including the 2-1 win over Celta Vigo. His involvement in the starting line-up should be confirmed before the match.

More than 8.5 corners is priced at 1.49. Bookmakers’ projections put the expected total at about 9.9, including 7.3 for Juventus and 2.6 for Rennes.

The odds may change.
