Trabzonspor defender Wagner Peña hails Mohamed Salah’s professionalism and impact at club

Trabzonspor defender Wagner Peña has praised Mohamed Salah for his outstanding performances and professionalism, describing the Egyptian forward as a wonderful person who continues to make a significant impact on his teammates.

Salah has enjoyed an impressive start to life at Trabzonspor following his arrival on a free transfer from Liverpool at the end of last season, signing a two-year contract with the Turkish club.

The 34-year-old has quickly established himself as an influential figure in the squad, attracting attention in the Turkish media with his performances on the right wing.

His contribution has also earned him admiration from his teammates, with Peña highlighting not only his quality on the pitch but also the support he provides to other players within the squad.

Speaking at a press conference ahead of Trabzonspor’s Europa League meeting with Hearts, Peña praised the Egyptian international’s commitment and willingness to help his colleagues, regardless of their involvement in matches.

“Mohamed Salah really helps us. He is a top-class professional and he constantly supports us, whether we are the starting players or those who do not participate in the matches,” Peña said, as quoted by Sporx.

The Trabzonspor defender was particularly impressed by Salah’s ability to maintain the high standards he established during his time in English football, despite moving to a new league and environment.

“What amazes me most about Mohamed Salah is that he plays at the same level he did in England and does the same things here. He is a very wonderful person,” he added.

Salah has already demonstrated his importance to Trabzonspor, producing another impressive display in Monday’s 2-0 victory over Besiktas in the Turkish league.

The Egyptian forward scored one of the goals and played a key role in the victory, further strengthening his growing reputation among the club’s supporters.

His performances have made him one of the major talking points in Turkish football, with his experience and attacking quality providing a significant boost to Trabzonspor’s ambitions this season.

Trabzonspor will now turn their attention to Thursday’s Europa League encounter against Hearts, where Salah will hope to continue his impressive form and help the Turkish side secure another positive result.
