Eduardo Camavinga struggles for playing time at Real Madrid

Eduardo Camavinga has struggled to translate his encouraging performances for France into regular playing time at Real Madrid, with the midfielder continuing to occupy a secondary role under manager Jose Mourinho.

According to reports, the 23-year-old has accumulated just 25 minutes across his last three official appearances for Los Blancos since returning from international duty, despite receiving significant playing time under France coach Zinedine Zidane.

Camavinga has fallen behind Federico Valverde, Jude Bellingham, Arda Guler, Aurelien Tchouameni and Bernardo Silva in Madrid’s midfield pecking order, highlighting the difficulties he faces in securing a regular starting position.

Injuries and inconsistent performances have disrupted his progress in recent months, limiting his continuity and affecting his chances of establishing himself as a key figure in the Spanish giants’ midfield.

Nevertheless, Mourinho previously offered encouragement to the Frenchman after praising a performance against Málaga, suggesting the midfielder still has an opportunity to convince his manager.

Camavinga has also acknowledged the psychological impact of missing the World Cup, admitting that the disappointment was unfamiliar but emphasising the importance of recovering from setbacks.

The midfielder has called for greater concentration and consistency, recognising that reducing mistakes will be essential to improving his performances.

With Real Madrid preparing to face RB Leipzig in the Champions League, Camavinga will hope to earn more minutes and revive his fortunes at the Santiago Bernabéu.
