Egypt v Algeria: How to watch the 2026 Africa Futsal Cup of Nations third-place play-off
Egypt and Algeria meet on Wednesday, 21 October for the bronze medal at the 2026 Africa Futsal Cup of Nations, with both sides looking to finish the tournament on a high after semi-final defeats.
The match will be played at the Salle Moulay-Abdellah in Rabat, according to the competition’s official schedule.
Kick-off is at 17:00 local time in Morocco. The country returned permanently to GMT (UTC+0) on 20 September 2026, while Algeria remains on GMT+1. The game will therefore start at 18:00 in Algeria, 19:00 in France and 20:00 in Egypt.
As with all 16 matches at the 2026 Africa Futsal Cup of Nations, the play-off will be available free of charge on CAF TV, the official YouTube channel of the Confederation of African Football.
Arryadia is also expected to show the match in Morocco, having broadcast the other games in the tournament.
Algeria chasing historic finish
Algeria have already made history in their first appearance at the competition. The Fennecs progressed beyond the group stage and reached the semi-finals, but they will rue the way their chance of reaching a first continental final disappeared against Angola.
Algeria led 2-0 in that match before Angola recovered to win 3-2.
The Fennecs secured qualification from Group A behind Morocco, while Egypt finished second in Group B, behind Angola.
For Algeria, victory would complete an impressive debut with a first Africa Futsal Cup of Nations medal. Egypt, meanwhile, will be aiming to restore some pride after a heavy semi-final loss.
Egypt seeking response after Morocco defeat
Egypt, three-time African champions, suffered their most difficult night of the tournament when they were beaten 6-0 by Morocco in the last four.
The hosts’ Atlas Lions were clearly superior, leaving the Pharaohs with the task of recovering quickly for the third-place match.
The contest consequently carries contrasting significance for the two teams. Egypt, one of the historic powers of African futsal, will be trying to salvage something from the tournament with a podium finish.
Algeria, by contrast, can crown an already successful campaign by claiming a medal on their first appearance.
