Mustapha Hadji backs Yassir Zabiri to become one of Morocco’s great forwards

Mustapha Hadji believes Yassir Zabiri has the potential to become one of Morocco’s leading centre-forwards after closely following the 21-year-old’s progress at Racing Santander in Spain.

The former Morocco international and African Ballon d’Or winner of the 1990s praised Zabiri’s performances in an interview with Maghreb-Foot, saying: “He will become a great player.”

Hadji has been monitoring a large number of the striker’s matches and remains impressed by the qualities he has shown since joining Racing Santander. The young forward’s individual ability had already caught Hadji’s attention during the FIFA U20 World Cup.

The former Morocco star believes Zabiri can reach the highest levels of the national game if he continues to maintain his work ethic and develop in the same way.

Hadji’s comments come as Zabiri’s profile continues to grow in Spain. The striker has been described as a lively new attacking talent at Santander, having made a strong impression during the opening part of the season.

Racing Santander are due to face Espanyol in their 10th match of the Spanish championship. The match odds listed by 1xbet are 2.30 for a Racing Santander victory, 3.40 for a draw and 2.55 for an Espanyol win.
