Kaizer Chiefs head coach Fernando da Cruz has confirmed his starting line-up for the CAF Confederation Cup second preliminary round first leg against Red Arrows of Zambia.
Leaner starts in goal, with the defence made up of Monyane, Miguel, Moloisane and Cross. Mako, Frosler and Mthethwa are named in midfield, while Shabalala, Vilakazi and Baartman complete the line-up.
Bvuma, Dortley, Nkgwesa, Mabaso, Velebayi, Abrahams, Ighodaro, Da Silva and Duba are listed among the substitutes.
Red Arrows’ starting XI has not yet been confirmed.
The Zambian club qualified for the CAF Confederation Cup after winning the ABSA Cup in May 2026. They beat Zambian league champions Power Dynamos in the final to secure their place in the competition.
Red Arrows also finished second in the Zambian league last season, collecting 63 points in an 18-team division. This will be their first meeting with a South African side.
Chiefs earned a place in the CAF Confederation Cup for a second successive campaign after finishing third in the Betway Premiership last season.
However, Da Cruz’s side have struggled for victories in recent domestic matches. Chiefs have won only one of their past six games, drawing the other five.
The match will be played at Levy Mwanawasa Stadium, where Chiefs have previous experience of facing ZESCO United. Over the past seven years, they have played the Zambian club twice at the venue, winning once and losing once.
Chiefs will now look to take an advantage from the first leg before the second meeting with Red Arrows. Their confirmed team is:
Kaizer Chiefs: Leaner, Monyane, Miguel, Moloisane, Cross, Mako, Frosler, Mthethwa, Shabalala, Vilakazi, Baartman.
Substitutes: Bvuma, Dortley, Nkgwesa, Mabaso, Velebayi, Abrahams, Ighodaro, Da Silva, Duba.
