Yassine Gessime linked with Chelsea transfer move

Chelsea are reportedly interested in signing Moroccan winger Yassine Gessime from Strasbourg, with discussions over a possible move to the Premier League said to be progressing.

The 20-year-old has attracted attention following his performances in France, with French and English media reporting that the London club are considering a move for the young attacker.

Gessime joined Strasbourg from Dunkirk at the beginning of the year and has continued to build his reputation in French football. His displays have reportedly impressed Chelsea’s hierarchy, raising the possibility of a move to England.

Former Chelsea goalkeeping coach Christophe Lollichon has added to the speculation surrounding the winger’s future, suggesting that a switch to Stamford Bridge could be close.

Speaking to French newspaper Ouest-France, Lollichon said: “Yassine Gessime currently plays for Strasbourg, but he is practically already at Chelsea,”

The comments have fuelled reports linking the Moroccan youngster with a move to the Premier League, although no official confirmation has been made regarding a transfer.

BlueCo connection could help Chelsea

Chelsea’s relationship with Strasbourg could play an important role in any potential negotiations for Gessime.

Both clubs are owned by the same organisation, BlueCo, which provides a direct link between the two sides. That connection could make discussions over the winger’s future easier if Chelsea decide to pursue their reported interest.

Strasbourg have become part of the wider BlueCo football structure, with the shared ownership placing the French club and Chelsea within the same group.

Gessime’s reported emergence as a transfer target comes after his move from Dunkirk earlier this year. At 20, the Moroccan winger is still at an early stage of his career, but his performances have reportedly attracted the attention of Chelsea.

A move to the Premier League would represent another step in his development after his time in French football. However, the possibility of a transfer remains subject to further developments, with no definitive agreement announced.

For now, the winger continues to be associated with Strasbourg while speculation over a possible Chelsea move gathers pace.

The reported interest highlights the close relationship between the two clubs and the potential role that relationship could play in future transfer discussions. Whether Gessime eventually moves to Stamford Bridge remains unclear, but the Moroccan is reportedly on Chelsea’s radar ahead of a possible move to England.
