TS Galaxy expect new coach Admir Adzem to arrive before month-end

TS Galaxy chairman Tim Sukazi says the club hopes to complete the appointment of Bernard Parker’s successor before the end of October, with visa arrangements the only remaining obstacle to Admir Adzem taking charge.

Adzem, a European-based coach who holds a UEFA Pro-License, has agreed terms with the club, although Galaxy have not yet formally confirmed him as Parker’s replacement. His visa application has been approved and he now needs to attend an embassy interview before travelling to South Africa.

“Immediately after speaking to Parker we embarked on finding a new coach, which we were able to find. We reached an agreement with another European based coach with a UEFA Pro-License. The only issue was the VISA which was delayed, but I received confirmation that his application has been approved and he just needs to go to the embassy for an interview, so we are expecting him very soon,” Sukazi told SABC Sport.

Esau Mtsweni remains in temporary charge of The Rockets and took the team for Tuesday night’s away fixture against Orlando Pirates. Galaxy were beaten 3-0, adding to the club’s difficulties after they parted company with Parker.

The club is hoping its new coach will be on the touchline soon after their Carling Knockout round of 16 meeting with Kaizer Chiefs later this month.

Sukazi has not specified whether Adzem will be available for that match, but he is confident Mtsweni can continue to oversee the team effectively if the visa process causes any further delay.

Should the incoming coach’s arrival be pushed back, the chairman believes Mtsweni is capable of securing positive results during the interim period.
