Al-Shabab have seen negotiations with Hamam Al-Hamami over a contract extension come to a halt, despite the Saudi winger’s emergence as one of the club’s key players.
Al-Hamami’s current deal expires at the end of the season, meaning he will be free to sign for another club next January without seeking permission from Al-Shabab’s management.
The 2025 Gulf Cup’s player of the tournament is attracting interest from several clubs, with Al-Diriyah among the teams keen to secure his signature, according to Saudi newspaper Al-Riyadiyah.
Al-Hamami, whose full name is Hamam Mubarak Al-Hamami, joined Al-Shabab from Al-Kholood in the summer of 2025.
He recently helped Saudi Arabia win Gulf Cup 27 and was named the competition’s best player. His performances have also strengthened his position in the squad under Greek manager Georgios Donis.
Al-Shabab are therefore seeking to retain a player who has quickly become an important attacking option, but the stalled renewal talks leave his future beyond the current season uncertain.
