TS Galaxy reject Kaizer Chiefs’ R4m offer for Seluleko Mahlambi

TS Galaxy chairman Tim Sukazi says he turned down a R4 million offer from Kaizer Chiefs for Seluleko Mahlambi because he believes the midfielder is worth at least R10 million.

Kaizer Motaung Jr made the offer for the 22-year-old during the recent PSL transfer window, but Sukazi says the club refused to reduce its valuation.

“There’s never been a monetary offer outside Kaizer Chiefs they did table an offer Kaizer Jr tabled a R4m offer. I thought really, it wasn’t good enough in my view,” Sukazi told Andile Ncube on Metro FM.

“Seluleko at least, he should be on R10 million and above at least; that’s his number, he’s young and Kaizer was not prepared to budge.

“R4-million was the number and then he stood his ground, we stood our ground.”

Mahlambi joined TS Galaxy from Cape Town City at the beginning of the 2024/25 season. Since moving to the club, he has made 44 appearances, scoring six goals and providing six assists.

The younger brother of Phakamani Mahlambi had been linked with all three of the PSL’s traditionally biggest clubs during the transfer window, with Orlando Pirates, Kaizer Chiefs and Mamelodi Sundowns all reportedly interested.

However, no deal materialised, with only Kaizer Chiefs making a formal financial proposal, according to Sukazi.

The TS Galaxy chairman said Kaizer Chiefs’ willingness to maintain its R4 million valuation prevented negotiations from progressing, while Galaxy remained firm that Mahlambi’s value was considerably higher.
