I will be back soon – Orlando Pirates midfielder Sihle Nduli provides positive injury update
Orlando Pirates midfielder Sihle Nduli has provided a positive injury update, saying he will return to action soon after months absence.
Nduli sustained the injury in August after a rough challenge from an AmaZulu striker, forcing him to spend time on the sidelines as he worked towards regaining full fitness.
The setback proved challenging for the midfielder, who admitted that being injured was a difficult experience despite recognising that such situations are part of a footballer’s career.
However, the support he received throughout his recovery helped him remain positive and focused on his return to competitive action.
Speaking about his recovery, Nduli singled out Orlando Pirates’ medical team for their efforts in helping him return to training and move closer to full fitness.
“Firstly, I’ll thank the medical department for the work they have done so I could come back quickly. I can say that I’ll be back in action soon,” he said.
The midfielder also acknowledged the emotional and mental challenges that came with being sidelined, explaining that the encouragement from those around him made the recovery process more manageable.
“Yeah, getting injured is part of our lives in football, but I won’t lie, it was difficult,” Nduli admitted.
“But then with the teammates, supporters and everyone, they granted me the support I needed.
“They told me that these things happen and I would come back. Yes, it was hurting, but with all the support structure, I go through it.”
Nduli’s comments underline the importance of collective support in helping players navigate injury setbacks, particularly during periods when they are unable to contribute to their teams on the pitch.
His expected return will provide a potential boost for Orlando Pirates as they continue their campaign, with the midfielder eager to put the frustrating spell behind him and resume playing.
However, his return to competitive action will depend on his final recovery and the club’s assessment of his fitness.
