Haitham Hassan named among Celtic substitutes for Motherwell Scottish Premiership match

Haitham Hassan has been named on the bench for Celtic’s Scottish Premiership fixture against Motherwell.

Celtic sit top of the league with 18 points from seven matches, one point ahead of rivals Rangers.

The game is the second consecutive league fixture for which Hassan has been included among Celtic’s substitutes. He was also on the bench for the match against Rangers before the international break.

The winger has made five league appearances for Celtic this season and has provided one assist. He has played 303 minutes in the Scottish Premiership since joining the club during the current campaign.

Hassan was rested for Egypt’s final international-break fixture against South Africa after an agreement with the national team’s medical staff.

He had played 53 minutes for Egypt against South Sudan in the second round of qualifying for the 2027 Africa Cup of Nations.

Motherwell are ninth in the Scottish Premiership standings with eight points. They have lost their last three league matches.

Rangers ended Celtic’s run of consecutive league victories by beating them in their final match before the international break, inflicting Celtic’s first league defeat of the season.
