Olwethu Makhanya’s Rangers FC moved to the top of the Scottish Premiership with a 3-1 victory over Kilmarnock, their seventh consecutive win.
Rangers took control at Ibrox on Saturday afternoon, scoring three times before half-time. Makhanya completed the entire match and helped his side keep another clean sheet.
Ryan Don Naderi opened the scoring after 15 minutes, before Kevin Kelsy doubled Rangers’ advantage nine minutes later.
Naderi struck again in the 44th minute to give the hosts a commanding lead at the interval and complete his brace.
Kilmarnock scored a consolation goal in the 90th minute through Nicky Clescenco, but Rangers held on to secure another three points.
The result lifted Rangers to 19 points from eight games, moving them one point clear of rivals Celtic, who have a game in hand.
Makhanya was named Player of the Month September after a series of impressive performances since joining the club. The defender has now made 13 appearances for the Scottish giants.
