Barcelona’s unbeaten home record against Getafe faces another test

Barcelona welcome Getafe to Spotify Camp Nou on Saturday in the eighth round of La Liga, with their remarkable record against the visitors offering further encouragement to the league leaders.

Barcelona have won all seven of their matches so far this season to sit top of the table with 21 points. Getafe are 11th on eight points.

According to Opta, Barcelona have never lost at home to Getafe in 21 La Liga meetings, recording 17 wins and four draws. No other opponent has played more away matches at Barcelona without beating them in the competition, apart from Elche, who have faced the Catalan club 25 times at their home ground, drawing seven and losing 18.

Getafe have lost their past eight away games against Barcelona in La Liga. They have also failed to score in the last four of those matches, making it their longest run of consecutive defeats against Barcelona at the Camp Nou in the top flight.

The visitors’ away form this season is also a concern. They have lost all three of their away fixtures in the 2026-2027 La Liga campaign without scoring in any of them.

It is the first time in Getafe’s history in the competition that they have lost their opening three away matches in a single season while failing to find the net.

Barcelona’s attacking start

Barcelona have scored 31 goals in their first seven league games this season. That is the second-highest total by any side after seven matches in a La Liga campaign, behind Sevilla’s 40 goals at the same stage of the 1940-1941 season.

The game could also bring a landmark for Getafe defender Djene Dakonam. The club’s record appearance-maker in the top flight, with 311 matches, currently has 99 La Liga victories for Getafe.

A win at Spotify Camp Nou would make him the first player to reach 100 victories with the club in the competition.

Barcelona manager Hansi Flick has also enjoyed a strong record against Getafe boss Jose Bordalas. Flick is unbeaten in their four La Liga meetings, winning three and drawing one.

He has not faced any other manager as many as four times in the competition without losing. Flick has also played four matches against each of six other managers without suffering defeat.

Bordalas, meanwhile, has never won away at Barcelona in La Liga. In eight visits, his teams have drawn once and lost seven times.

The only opponent against whom he has played more away matches without winning is Atletico Madrid, also in eight games, with one draw and seven defeats.
