Inter Milan monitor André-Frank Zambo Anguissa

Inter Milan are considering a move for Napoli midfielder André-Frank Zambo Anguissa if the Cameroon international leaves the club as a free agent next summer.

Contract talks between Anguissa and Napoli have stalled over his salary demands, with the midfielder’s current deal due to expire at the end of the season.

The 30-year-old currently earns €3.6m net per year but is seeking a new salary of around €6m annually.

The €2.4m difference between his current earnings and his demands has prevented negotiations with Napoli from progressing.

Inter are monitoring the situation closely as they assess the possibility of signing Anguissa without a transfer fee if he reaches the end of his Napoli contract without agreeing a new deal.

According to Italian newspaper Tuttosport, the Nerazzurri are considering making a move for the former Marseille midfielder should he become available next summer.

Anguissa’s uncertain situation in Naples has therefore attracted interest from Inter, who have previously followed his career.

The Cameroonian international has established himself as an important player during his time in Italy, but his future is now unclear with negotiations over a new contract having reached an impasse.

Napoli and the midfielder have been unable to find common ground over the financial terms of a potential extension.

Anguissa’s request for a salary close to €6m represents a significant increase on his current €3.6m net annual earnings.

Inter are now watching developments as they consider whether the midfielder could become an option for their squad at the end of the season.

The interest is not entirely new. AC Milan’s recruitment team has been monitoring Anguissa since his time playing in France with Olympique de Marseille.

The Lombardy club had already shown concrete interest in the midfielder in 2025, when his contract situation was also approaching an important stage.

Anguissa previously played for Marseille before continuing his career elsewhere and eventually joining Napoli.

His contract situation at Napoli has now once again placed his future under scrutiny, with Inter keeping track of the negotiations.

If the two sides fail to reach an agreement, Anguissa could enter the final months of his Napoli career with the possibility of becoming a free agent.

For Inter, that scenario could provide an opportunity to pursue an experienced midfielder without having to negotiate a transfer fee with Napoli.

For now, however, the midfielder’s immediate future remains dependent on whether Napoli can bridge the gap between his salary expectations and the club’s position.
