Nabil Maloul has reportedly declined an offer to coach in Egypt, expressing concerns over security reasons. The former coach of the Tunisian national football team was approached to take charge of training Houssem Al Badry but chose to refuse the offer from the Egyptian club.
This situation is reminiscent of Ghana’s decision to refuse to play the second leg of the Brazil 2014 World Cup play-offs in Egypt due to security concerns. In the first leg, Ghana had convincingly defeated Egypt 6-1, putting them in a strong position for qualification. The refusal to play the return leg led to Ghana’s request to FIFA to relocate the match, citing security reasons.
