Inter Milan target Napoli midfielder Andre-Frank Zambo Anguissa as contract talks stall

Inter Milan are monitoring the breakdown in contract negotiations between Napoli and Andre-Frank Zambo Anguissa, with the Cameroon international potentially available on a free transfer at the end of the season.

The 30-year-old midfielder’s current deal expires next summer, but discussions with the Italian club have come to an abrupt halt because of his salary demands.

Anguissa currently earns 3.6 million euros net per year and is seeking an annual salary of close to 6 million euros. The 2.4 million euro gap between the player’s expectations and Napoli’s position has prevented any further progress in talks.

Italian newspaper Tuttosport reports that Inter Milan are considering a move for the former Olympique de Marseille player if he becomes a free agent at the end of the season.

The Milan club have been following Anguissa for several years, having first monitored him during his time in the French league with Olympique de Marseille. Inter Milan also showed concrete interest in 2025, when the midfielder’s contract was approaching its expiry.

The continuing financial impasse with Napoli could now give the Nerazzurri an opportunity to sign a player they have identified as a long-term target. A deal without a transfer fee in summer 2027 would represent the culmination of an extended period of interest.

Anguissa is valued at 15 million euros and is reported to earn an annual salary of 3,460,000 euros (2,249,000,000 FCFA) in Italy.

Napoli are due to play their sixth league match of the season against Frosinone soon.
