SV Werder Bremen will be without Skelly Alvero for the foreseeable future after the midfielder suffered a calf muscle injury.
The 24-year-old Frenchman was forced to cut short Monday’s training session, and an MRI scan has now confirmed the injury.
Werder have not provided a specific timeframe for his recovery, meaning it remains unclear when Alvero will be able to return to team training. He will definitely miss Friday’s Bundesliga away match against Borussia Dortmund.
Alvero has had a limited role for Bremen so far in the 2026/27 campaign. He has made two appearances for Werder II in the Regionalliga Nord, playing 149 minutes without scoring or providing an assist. He has yet to feature for the senior side in the Bundesliga this season.
The latest setback is another frustrating blow for the 2.02-metre midfielder, who has struggled to establish himself at Werder since joining the club permanently.
Alvero spent the second half of last season on loan at French side Amiens before returning to Bremen. His latest injury leaves Werder waiting for further updates before determining how long he will remain unavailable.
