Arsenal have extended manager Mikel Arteta’s contract until the summer of 2030, the club announced on Wednesday.
The 44-year-old’s previous agreement was due to expire in the summer of 2027. The new deal also includes an increase in salary.
Arteta has led Arsenal to the English Premier League title, ending the club’s 22-year wait for the championship.
The extension removes uncertainty over the Spaniard’s future after he previously indicated that he wanted to remain at the club.
“The timing of the contract will not be a problem because my clear intention is to stay here and I am very happy here,” Arteta said.
He added: “My feeling towards the club is the same, which is why everyone is doing things in a very natural way.”
Arteta became Arsenal manager in December 2019.
