Morocco will host the 2026 Africa Cup of Nations Futsal from 12 to 21 October, with the tournament set to be played across two venues in Rabat.

The Moulay Abdellah Sports Hall and Ibn Yassine Sports Hall will stage the 10-day competition, which features eight national teams competing for the continental title.

The teams have been divided into two groups of four, with defending champions Morocco drawn in Group A alongside Libya, Zambia and Algeria.

Group B consists of Egypt, Angola, Mozambique and Tanzania.

Morocco target fourth Futsal AFCON title

Morocco enter the tournament as defending champions and will be aiming to extend their dominance of African futsal.

The 2026 edition will be the third consecutive Futsal AFCON hosted by Morocco. The country staged the tournament in 2024, when the Atlas Lions successfully defended the title on home soil.

Morocco first won the competition in 2016 in South Africa before adding a second title in 2020 and retaining the trophy in 2024.

Hicham Dguig’s side can therefore secure a fourth continental crown if they successfully defend their title again in Rabat.

Dguig names 14-player squad

Dguig has selected a 14-player squad containing a mixture of domestic-based players and internationals playing abroad.

The squad includes experienced figures such as Soufiane El Mesrar, Bilal Bakkali, Anas El Ayyane, Soufiane Borite and Idriss Raiss El Fenni.

Rabat prepares for 10 days of futsal

The Moulay Abdellah Sports Hall and Ibn Yassine Sports Hall will host the group-stage and knockout matches throughout the tournament.

Both venues are located in Rabat, allowing Morocco to stage the competition in the capital and give home supporters the opportunity to watch the defending champions during their title defence.

With the tournament scheduled to begin on 12 October, Morocco will now turn its attention to their Group A campaign as Dguig’s side begins its pursuit of a fourth Futsal AFCON crown on home soil.
