Egypt coach Hossam Hassan to miss CAF Strategic Conference in Cape Verde
Egypt head coach Hossam Hassan will miss the upcoming Confederation of African Football (CAF) Strategic Conference in Cape Verde after apologising for his absence.
As per reports, Hossam Hassan has informed the organizers that he will not be able to attend the high-profile conference, which is scheduled to take place from October 7 to 9.
Meanwhile, the former Egypt international has apologised for not attending the event.
The CAF Strategic Conference will bring together prominent figures from African and world football to discuss the future development of the game on the continent.
Among the key topics expected to be addressed are the development of national teams, the advancement of coaches and technical structures, and an assessment of Africa’s performance at the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
The event is also expected to attract some of the biggest names in global football, including FIFA president Gianni Infantino and Arsene Wenger, FIFA’s head of global football development.
Despite Hassan’s absence, the conference will provide a platform for football officials, coaches and technical experts to exchange ideas on strengthening African football and improving the continent’s competitiveness at international level.
Hassan will instead remain focused on his duties with the Egyptian national team as the Pharaohs prepare for their upcoming international commitments.
