Rosenborg have no intention of selling Amine Chiakha, despite growing interest in the Algeria international from Germany.
The 20-year-old striker joined the Norwegian club from FC Copenhagen for 5 million euros, making him the most expensive signing in Rosenborg’s history.
Chiakha has made an immediate impact, scoring 14 goals and providing three assists across league and cup competitions. His performances have increased his estimated market value to 8 million euros and attracted attention from German clubs.
Interest in the forward is not new. According to people close to the player, approaches were already made while Chiakha was at FC Copenhagen. However, negotiations failed to progress because the clubs who owned his registration consistently refused to accept offers from major European leagues.
Rosenborg’s stance appears to be creating a similar obstacle this time. The Norwegian club are unwilling to part with their leading player, leaving Chiakha’s future uncertain as interest develops in the transfer market.
The striker remains under contract with Rosenborg until December 2030, giving the club a strong position in any potential negotiations.
Algeria are due to play a friendly against Niger soon.
