Cheikh Tioté, the Ivory Coast international and former Newcastle player, has faced legal issues in the UK related to driving with a false license. Tioté, who was arrested last February, admitted to purchasing the fake Belgian license for 15,000 euros. In court, he expressed his intention to exchange the fake license for a real one in England, a violation of the law. As a result, Tioté has been suspended from driving for 18 months, with 7 months suspended, and must complete 180 days of Works of General Interest (TIG). He received a 600-pound fine, a 6-point deduction from his future license, and additional fees. Tioté also faces charges of driving without insurance, which will be addressed in a magistrates’ court.
