Former Kaizer Chiefs defender Happy Mashiane is undergoing assessments at Siwelele FC as he continues his search for a new club.
The 28-year-old has been without a team since June 2026, when he and Kaizer Chiefs agreed to terminate his contract following a difficult spell over the previous two seasons.
Mashiane began his football journey in the Kaizer Chiefs development structures after joining as a teenager. He was promoted to the senior side at the start of 2019.
He has since been working towards securing a return to professional football and recently had an assessment at Stellenbosch FC under manager Gavin Hunt. However, the club decided not to sign him because it believed he was not fit enough.
Mashiane’s latest opportunity has come at Siwelele FC, where he has been assessed for the past two weeks. No agreement has been reached and he has not yet signed for the club.
The move would see him return to familiar surroundings. Mashiane spent last season on loan at Siwelele FC, although he made just one appearance during that spell.
