Yassine Bounou, the Moroccan international goalkeeper for Al-Hilal Saudi Football Club, expressed his delight after leading his team to victory in the second edition of the Riyadh Season Cup by defeating Al-Nassr with a 2-0 scoreline on Thursday.
Bounou delivered an outstanding performance against Al-Nassr’s offensive threats, making numerous crucial saves and proving formidable against the star Portuguese forward Cristiano Ronaldo, securing his 13th clean sheet with Al-Hilal.
In televised remarks following the match, Bounou stated, “Thank God. Al-Hilal has demonstrated its strength despite the prolonged hiatus in recent times.
Our team continues on the same trajectory.”
The Atlas Lions’ goalkeeper added, “A goalkeeper must focus on his job and not think about anything else.
Sometimes you keep a clean sheet, and other times you concede goals.”
Bounou continued, emphasizing, “Al-Hilal is a big and extraordinary team in organization and everything.
I feel a great responsibility to deliver what Al-Hilal expects from me.”
He also directed a message to the Moroccan fans, saying, “They always support me, and with our clubs, we try to portray a good image of Moroccan players.”
Concluding his remarks, Bounou remarked, “For me, during over ten years of professionalism, I play every match as if I were with my national team because I represent Morocco.”
