Egypt’s Al-Ahly ranks fourth in IFFHS club world rankings

In the latest rankings released by the International Federation of Football History and Statistics (IFFHS) on Saturday, Egypt’s Al-Ahly has secured an impressive fourth position among the world’s top football clubs, showcasing its enduring dominance in African football.

The IFFHS revealed the rankings covering the period from December 31, 2023, to January 31 of the current year, with English giants Manchester City topping the chart, followed closely by Spain’s Real Madrid.

Al-Ahly’s notable position at fourth with 254 points underscores its consistent performance on the global stage, standing 14 points clear of German side Bayer Leverkusen in fifth place and trailing Italy’s Inter Milan, who accumulated 281 points.

Meanwhile, Egyptian clubs Pyramids and Zamalek found themselves in the rankings at 107th and 138th positions, respectively, with Pyramids garnering 125.25 points and Zamalek accumulating 107.5 points.

The top 10 clubs in the world according to the IFFHS rankings are as follows:

1. Manchester City (England) – 359 points
2. Real Madrid (Spain) – 332 points
3. Inter Milan (Italy) – 281 points
4. Al-Ahly (Egypt) – 254 points
5. Bayer Leverkusen (Germany) – 243 points
6. PSV Eindhoven (Netherlands) – 241.5 points
7. Fluminense (Brazil) – 233 points
8. Fiorentina (Italy) – 231.5 points
9. Bayern Munich (Germany) – 228 points
10. Palmeiras (Brazil) – 226 points

Al-Ahly’s strong showing in the IFFHS rankings underscores its status as a powerhouse not only in African football but also on the global stage, solidifying its reputation as one of the continent’s most successful clubs.
