Jabulane Shongwe joins Armory FC in Mpumalanga ABC Motsepe League

Former Mamelodi Sundowns midfielder Jabulane Shongwe has returned to the ABC Motsepe League after joining Armory FC in Witbank, Mpumalanga.

The move represents Shongwe’s second spell in the competition. He played for Phezulu FC last season before switching to Armory, who are competing in the Mpumalanga ABC Motsepe League for the first time.

Armory have brought in the experienced midfielder as they attempt to maintain their status in the division. The club have recorded one league victory so far this season, a 3-1 away win against KwaNdebele United last week.

An official at Armory confirmed that Shongwe is part of the squad and said the former Brazilians player had already made an impression within the team.

“The chairman is the right person to talk about his signing, but I can confirm that Jabulane Shongwe is part of our team this season,” the official said.

“He has already made a great impact in the team by showing his experience and guiding the youngsters in the dressing room.”

Shongwe’s return to the ABC Motsepe League adds another experienced former PSL player to the division in Mpumalanga.

He has been joined in the competition by former Orlando Pirates defender Ntsikelelo Nyauza, who is registered with Middleburg United.
