Anis Hadj Moussa and Adam Zorgane will miss Algeria’s friendly against Niger on 6 October after both players sustained injuries.
Algeria are due to face Niger at the end of the current international break, but coach Ibrahim Hamdani has released the two players from the squad after it was confirmed they would not be available for the match, the Algerian Football Federation said.
Hadj Moussa suffered a minor injury during Algeria’s previous match against Zambia. Zorgane was injured in the team’s most recent game against Burundi.
Both players will now return to their respective clubs to continue their recovery.
Algeria began their 2027 Africa Cup of Nations qualifying campaign with a 3-1 victory over Zambia. They then earned a point away from home against Burundi after a 2-2 draw.
Hadj Moussa scored after coming on as a substitute against Zambia, but remained on the bench for the match against Burundi. Zorgane started the game against Zambia before being used as a substitute in the draw with Burundi.
The pair are the latest players to leave Algeria’s camp through injury. Rayan Ait-Nouri departed after the match against Zambia, while Amine Gouiri also withdrew because of an injury.
