Al Ahly captain and goalkeeper Mohamed El Shenawy has officially renewed his commitment to the Cairo club until 2028.
The 37-year-old Egypt international remains a central figure for the Egyptian giants, providing leadership and high-level experience both on the pitch and inside the dressing room.
El Shenawy has played an important part in Al Ahly’s recent domestic and international successes and continues to be regarded as a key member of the squad. His experience is particularly valuable during major CAF Champions League fixtures, where the club’s ambitions demand consistency and authority in goal.
The new agreement gives Al Ahly defensive stability for several more seasons and underlines the club’s desire to retain one of its most influential players. Keeping their captain and first-choice goalkeeper also sends a clear message to their direct competitors.
El Shenawy, who was born in El Hamool, will now continue his career between the posts at Al Ahly as he seeks to add to an already exceptional honours list and help guide the club towards further success.
