Morocco cancel planned Ghana friendly in Tangier

Morocco have cancelled their international friendly against Ghana, which had been scheduled for 4 October in Tangier.

The fixture had been announced as another opportunity for the Black Stars to test themselves against one of Africa’s leading teams after their commitments towards qualifying for the 2027 Africa Cup of Nations.

However, the meeting between the two nations will no longer take place after Morocco called off the planned match.

The cancellation leaves Ghana needing to reassess its arrangements for the October international window and potentially find another opponent for the date.

The Black Stars, coached by Carlos Queiroz, had expected the game against Morocco to form part of their preparations for the team’s long-term rebuilding process. They must now revise those plans before their next fixtures.
