Desktop Security warning flags possible hidden spyware and calls for manual analysis

A “Desktop Security – McAfee” warning says the symptoms are typical of hidden spyware operating in the background without producing audible signs of activity.

The message says artificial intelligence has checked whether the threat can be removed, but confirms that it has not been eliminated. It adds that manual analysis is required before the process can continue.

The user is then asked to answer three questions generated by the artificial intelligence. The first asks whether the device has been heating up quickly, to which the response shown is “Yes”.

The second asks whether the device has occasionally frozen completely. That question is also answered “Yes”.

The final question asks whether the browser redirects automatically. The message then instructs the user to click a button to start an antivirus scan.

It repeats that answering all three artificial-intelligence questions is required to continue.
