Al Nassr welcome back Coman and Ghareeb as Saad Al-Nasser nears return

Al Nassr manager Ange Postecoglou is expecting left-back Saad Al-Nasser to rejoin first-team training on Wednesday after completing his rehabilitation programme, according to Saudi newspaper Al Riyadiya.

Al-Nasser has been sidelined by a hamstring injury, which kept him out of training and required a period of treatment and rehabilitation. Al Nassr announced last week that the defender was scheduled to return to group training on Wednesday.

Before suffering the injury, Al-Nasser had made five appearances for the club. Four of those came in the Saudi Pro League, while the other was in the AFC Champions League Elite.

The 25-year-old’s return would provide another option at left-back for Postecoglou as Al Nassr prepare for their next competitive fixtures.

Tuesday’s training session also brought positive news for the squad, with French winger Kingsley Coman and Abdulrahman Ghareeb declared fit after recovering from their respective injuries.

Postecoglou included 10 players from the club’s youth teams in the session to make up the numbers, with several first-team players away on international duty.

The youngsters involved were goalkeepers Sultan Al-Mas and Abdulhadi Al-Alwan; defenders Awad Iman and Yousef Al-Tahan; midfielders Bassam Hazzazi, Yassin Salam and Khaled Al-Muhaini; and forwards Saad Haqawi, Abdulrahman Al-Anazi and Abdulrahman Sufyani.

As part of their preparations, Al Nassr will play a friendly against Al Anwar on Saturday.

The club will resume their Saudi Pro League title defence on 9 October, when they host Al-Diriyah at Al-Awwal Park in the eighth round.
