Arnaud Kalimuendo’s Nottingham Forest future in doubt as January loan move emerges

Arnaud Kalimuendo is facing an uncertain future at Nottingham Forest, with Olympiakos reportedly interested in signing the forward on a six-month loan when the January transfer window opens.

The 24-year-old has struggled for regular first-team football since joining Nottingham Forest from Stade Rennais in the summer of 2025 for €30m. Since August 2026, he has made only two appearances, including just one minute in the Premier League against Leeds United on 22 August.

According to the Nottingham Post, Olympiakos have made their interest concrete as they consider taking Kalimuendo temporarily for the remainder of the season. A deal could be relatively straightforward because the Greek club and Nottingham Forest have shared ownership.

The move would give Kalimuendo the opportunity to play more regularly after a difficult start to life in England. However, a switch to Greece is not the only option being considered for the France-born forward.

Bundesliga option remains open

Eintracht Frankfurt are continuing to monitor Kalimuendo’s situation and could explore the possibility of bringing him to Germany on loan. The Bundesliga club’s interest means the player’s next destination is yet to be decided.

Kalimuendo’s future is expected to become clearer once the January transfer market opens, with a departure from Nottingham Forest appearing increasingly likely given his limited involvement.

The forward, who was born in Suresnes and developed at Paris Saint-Germain, remains under contract with the Tricky Trees until June 2030. His current value is estimated at €25m by Transfermarkt.

Kalimuendo earns an annual salary of €3,618,734, equivalent to 2,352,177,100 FCFA, while contracted to Nottingham Forest.
